A fresh first impression for Holiday Inn Manvers, in a single visit
Walls, windows, gutters, the main entrance and the pavements around it. We cleaned the whole of the hotel’s exterior in one coordinated visit, so guests arrive at a building that looks the part.

The challenge
Guests judge a hotel before they reach reception
A busy hotel’s exterior is out in the weather all year. Dirt, organic growth and traffic pollution build up slowly on the walls, windows and hard surfaces. The entrance and the pavements are the first things guests see when they arrive, so that’s where it shows most.
Dirt and organic growth on the walls
Weathered windows and blocked gutters
A grubby entrance and walkways that every guest uses
What we did
Five jobs, one visit
Rather than booking five separate contractors, the hotel had every part of the exterior cleaned in a single coordinated visit by our sister company, Blue Whale SWS.
| Area | Service | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Building exterior | Soft washing | Dirt and organic growth removed |
| Windows | Window cleaning | Bright, well-kept frontage |
| Gutters | Gutter clearing | Rainwater drains freely, less risk of overflow |
| Main entrance | Jet washing | A clean, welcoming arrival point |
| Pavements | Jet washing | Fresh walkways around the hotel |

Before and after

Before: algae and dirt streaking down the render

After: bright, clean render and windows
The bigger picture
The outside is only half the building
Alongside Blue Whale SWS’s exterior work, Lex Hygiene looks after the parts guests never see: kitchen extract, fire dampers, ventilation, drains and pest control. Together we can cover the whole hotel, from the roof to the kitchen, on one annual schedule.
